About
Art has always been an important part of me. I started my journey at a young age with a pad and pencil in hand. It was during a written report assignment on North American animals that I decided would be better received by including drawings of the animals as well. It turned into a book of illustrations. My teacher was in awe by the detail, and the fact someone of 9 years created such work. With new found confidence, I remember thinking "Art is something I am going to pursue". My teacher kept the book.
Years later, I decided to extend my education in architecture. I received a degree at the Arizona Automotive Institute, Drafting Division in Glendale, Arizona. I moved to Denver, Colorado where I ended up working as an electrical, mechanical, and architectural drafter on contract with General Devices for the Department of Energy. I continued with other companies as an electrical designer working with companies like Ball Metal Container Group and Total Petroleum, Inc.
My first inspiration for painting was from a TV program called "The Joy of Painting" with Bob
During this period of my life I had been working with different Engineering companies utilizing Computer-Aided Drawing (CAD) programs and creating plans in the electrical field. I deciding I wanted a change, and received a degree in Multimedia at the Colorado Institue of Art. After graduating I started Olson Computer Graphic Design doing graphic and web design work. I spent 10 years of creating graphic art and design with different companies like Evergreen Natural Gas, creating multimedia presentations, DH Glabe and Associates creating 2D and 3D illustrations. as well as the National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL) where I created an activities guide for the Annual Meeting and Exhibition in Salt Lake City, Utah to name a few. My company gave me a foundation of creativity utilizing digital as well as traditional art.
The last decade I have been working internationally with my brothers and their electrical company, RME. This has afforded me the opportunity to travel all over the world...A chance to document and create my Diary of Art. My future is taking me to be a full-time artist.
